Water Pump Woes

Well guys, bad news. I let my "teenager" side get the best of me. I unhooked all the lines from the pump and pulled it out. The wires were still hooked on with some splices. I figured I could just pull em apart and put a heat shrink butt splice on it. Well... I tugged and the wire pulled out of the pump itself. I shoved it back in the hole and turned the pump on and it didn't hum... Looks like I'm gonna need a new pump. Joy joy

Make sure it is not in the winter bypass mode.

All great suggestions guys! I guess ill start by taking a look at the pump itself, then checking out the lines. Iv only owned this camper for a few months so its history is unknown to me. Its in excellent shape for a 96 so its either been sitting its entire life or well taken care of. I think its the first option...

Make sure you dont have a leak! Check to see if you have a cabinet full of water!

Great suggestions to far. Here's another thing you might try. If yours has an inline filter make sure the filter screen is completely clean.

My vote is air. I'd at least try to prime it.

Mine did the same thing this spring. Last year it started right up. This year I let it run for about 10 minutes turning it off and on. Checked all the fittings for leaks. Hooked it up to the pressurized hose and it worked fine. Almost gave up. Then kicked it on one last time and it finally started pumping water. I wonder if hooking it up to the hose allowed some water to work it's way back to the pump to help prime it?

Debris in the diaphram or a cracked diaphram. Also check the pickup line to the pump make sure its not cracked .

It will keep running if it sucks up any debris and it gets stuck in the diaphragm assembly. Take the head apart and rinse all the rubber parts off with water.
I've had to do this a couple of times.
