Water pump!!!

Hello Folks!!

I have a 2014 Minnie Winnie, Just got at the end of summer. I winterized that baby like the book was telling me to do . So I added the antifreeze to the fresh water tank and turned on the water pump just to make sure that the water pump had antifreeze in it. no I do not have a water heater by pass.. I'm leaving tomorrow morning on a trip. So I filled up the fresh water holding tank I turned the water pump, and I do not get any water coming thru the faucets. So I finally decided to hook up the garden hose to the city hookup OK now I'm getting water on every faucet. I still can not figure out what is going on with the water pump ( its running ) but it does not pump any water.:M any advise will be appreciated.

Thank you all
  • Although unusual I did have a TT once that would get a bubble of air in the pump and be a pain to prime. First thing I would try; now that you have the water heater filled from city water; it to fill the fresh water tank really full and let the pump run for awhile. Sometimes this will be enough to work the air out of the system. On the TT I had it was worse then that though. I would have to remove the output line from the pump to force the air out. I hope it's not that bad for you. Check what the other members have said first.

You did rinse and sanitize your tank and system correct? If not don't drink the water and it will smell bad for awhile as the antifreeze works it's way out of the system.

Are you sure you don't have a bypass? On my 2201DS, it came with a bypass...located under the kitchen sink. I have to remove one small panel to access it so I can see the water pump and the bypass valve and tubing.

My first thoughts also. My gut tells me this is an easy fix once you locate the bypass. There is a seperate bypass in my camper (not for the water heater) that is used to pump in antifreeze. Mine is also located behind a panel, but in my case it's accessed from the outside storage compartment on the street side.

  • Try opening all of the faucets and let the pump run for a few minutes. It may have lost its prime. This method works for me.
Are you filling up the Water Heater before anything comes out of the faucets?
Ditto on not putting Pink Stuff into the Fresh Water Tank.
  • have you switched a valve from city water to water fill? and buy and install a winterizing kit so you don't need to waste antifreeze by filling your FW tank.
