water pump?

I leave my WATER PUMP switch in the OFF position unless I am off the power grid and have water in my fresh water tank.

Quick point of clarification, since I haven't had mine apart (yet. I'm sure that day is coming, too). I've always thought the check valve for the water tank feed was on the pressure side of the pump, not the intake. Am I wrong about that? Thanks.
