Maybe this will help understand what is happening...

The tongue weight stays the same as everyone on here has already mentioned but since the WDH does not allow the trailer tongue connection to bend forces the weight to the front of the truck, The weight distribution is now divided up between the front and rear wheel suspension setups...
You are still at the mercy of how much weight the hitch is designed to handle.
If your truck and hitch are not big enough to handle the load you will not be a happy person towing it. Just wait until you meet one of those hugh tractor trailer truck hauling massive logs doing 70MPH meeting you on a two lane road. This is an everyday occurrence on US 82 between Greenville Ms and Crossett ARK where a Georgia Pacific wood plant is located.
You will be swamped into the right hand ditch in a heartbeat if your truck is underrated.... The last thing you will remember is the GP truck driver with a big smile on his face... Been there done that already haha...
