Maybe and I said maybe what you and the service mgr is alluding to is that the hitch that is installed on the tow vehicle and without a WD hitch has a max tow rating of 600 Lbs. When you add a WD hitch that can more than double the tow rating on the TV hitch. Sometimes the number is stamped into the hitch. My old pickup was 500 lbs max tongue weight with out the WD and 1050 lbs with it. Does this make sense.
