If your truck has a receiver made to handle a WDH, or if you can install an aftermarket receiver for a WDH, then call a WDH manufacturer and ask them about the weight redistribution. They may surprise you by telling you the WDH does in fact reduce the hitch ball weight by transferring some of that weight not only to the truck front axle but also the trailer axle(s). They may contradict the opinions of us Open Roads "experts". The leveraging effect of the WDH arms spreads hitch weight both directions.
