I don't see the connection between the camper and the need for a WDH. The WDH is based on the tongue weight of the trailer on the hitch and not the weight on the rear axle.
Towing a vehicle with all four wheels on the ground does not require nearly as strong a hitch setup.
Well I am completely new to the TC thing...but I have been dragging that trailer and truck around for 9 years now.First with a brand new 2005 Superduty F-250 XLT 4door 8 ft bed that was a slug after about 6 years of use and then it completely died 2 years ago in Aug...Im a glutton for abuse and bought another Ford the pictured 2011 F-250 is a gas job and is only a XL...I had to add cruise and the Ford trailer brake set up myself...very easy just plugin/flash/play at your friendly Ford dealer.
With either truck the trailer was never a issue and I would have at least 2 sometimes 3 (depending on attachments)antique garden tractors in the 8 foot bed....The days of bringing more tractors from the collection are over with the TC on.
Back in March when I bought the TC from the moment I left the POs yard I thought I made a mistake by buying it...The truck leaned ,body rolled and generally rode like******with the TC on it...my initial thought was I never was going to be able to haul the antique truck again with this set up...but a set of Torklift StableLoads straitened the ride out to where it was "manageable"...I was really under the impression that a WDH would make things a lot safer and take some weight off the rear axle...again I am new this.
