WDH question ???

Leaving in the morning from NJ to Gettysburg Pa.I have made this trip many times with the truck and trailer without issues...now that I have the TC on the back it changes things.

The truck is really loaded with the TC now and I was told if Im going to haul the trailer with the TC I better get a WDH ...which I did and installed it over the weekend.

The truck does not seem to squat at all with the hitch and sits pretty much like it always did because there is about a inch of clearance between the pavement and the mud flaps and that is the way it was pre TC.

My concern is shouldn't there be more tension on the spring bars ?

I can give the a shove with my boot ...it would seem I dont have something adjusted correctly...I never worked with one of these before ....Thanks for any insight and help.

  • I have nothing whatever useful to add, just want to drool a bit:

That is one AWESOME truck- tongue weight on that car hauler must be pretty high, and no squat even with camper and before w/d!
  • They way I set mine up is that I use the least amount of chain possible to reach the hook on the trailer A arm with out me having to bend the torsion bar. I then raise the hook ( usually with some effort) and add the cotter pin and that's the tension I go with. With my Huskey WDH that is 6 links of chain on each side, which is what I think I am counting on yours.
