That is awesome jornvango. No more worries about an eyesore in the driveway begging for work, now you have a camper begging to go CAMP! Congrats on the successful first voyage.
If it worked well in the wind already, on the first drive, you are all set. The proper size "sail" on your truck apparently. A truck as big as mine can have a sail as big as mine and handle heavy winds, even crosswinds like apparently the stout Hilux above can. Glad it sounds like yours is well suited for the truck. Do yourself favor now that you are driving it, and drive by a truck stop and weigh it as-is as clean and empty as it is and you'll have some valuable data. Note it in both pounds and KG's! If you do it near home you can weigh it, pay, then go home and unload and weigh again empty (and not pay for the second weigh.) You also should measure from the highest point on the roof to the ground and note that in feet/meters and when you finally get her fully loaded and ready to travel south, weigh it again and you'll be better prepared for bridges (both weight and height) and you wouldn't get surprised out there in your travels. Good to have a feel for just how big your rig is.
You probably know all that but a good reminder perhaps. Have a great trip, and a reminder, post us some photos on a new thread as you travel. Please? :)
