I found I was actually a bit over the rated tire capacity. I did some research trying to find out what the ratings really meant. Of course I was hoping to find that ratings are conservative. I doubt it. Then there is a concern about tires starting to get some wear or just getting a few years old. The only positive information I found is LT tires are rated for continuous use at the full rating. Passenger tires are not.
After considerable self debate, I decided to spend the big bucks for Rickson 19.5" rims and G rated tires. It is a relief to know that I have excess capacity.
