Wow, feeling the love after that highly presumptuous comment. Curious as to how you think/know that I'm new to camping...but whatever. Funny that nobody else on this thread, yourself included, has utilized the scales to define exactly what their cargo weight is. I assume if you had, you would say so. Let's just keep to the guessing then...

1500-2000 lbs is a lot of weight. I think people generously over-estimate what their cargo weighs.

While Larry could of worded his reply differntly his point is valid. Unless you are fully aware of the weight of every item you place in the TT you usually will under estimate .There are some items that always stay in my TT, dishes, pots/pans, BBQ, chairs, floor mat, towels, tools,etc. But depending on the lenghth of our trip and where we are going the amount of clothes and/or food will increase as well as we may bring along the bikes.
While I have not done a before loading/ after loading trip to the scales I do believe I added 1,000lbs to the TT.
