That sucks. Hope they get you fixed up fast. Just be glad you have warranty. Can you imagine what that will cost the next guy to own that truck when/if it happens again? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
If history repeats itself then warranty may not matter as Ford will claim contaminated fuel. I sure hope not, not with those miles. OP, I sincerely hope the dealer and Ford take care of you. Best of luck!
What REALLY sucks is if they deny then it's a claim against your auto policy!
I have never heard of auto insurance policies that cover breakdown/repairs. I have heard of auto policies that cover accidents, wrecks, trees falling, etc. But never one that covers mechanical failures. I assume they cost a LOT more than standard full coverage.
Comprehensive Coverage will cover fuel quality related damage - as long as you can prove where the fuel came from. Typically your insurance will then try to recover their expense from the fuel source.
The OP's problem has not been clearly identified as a fuel quality related issue or non-fuel related mechanical failure.
Hoping the OP has a honest dealer as Ford has been stingy on these type of warranty claim. OP needs to independently have the fuel tested for contamination.....
OEM fuel filter systems on newer trucks leave a little to desire -especially in conjunction with the known vulnerabilities of the CP4 series injector pumps. Most of the OEMS have decent coalescing filters but the absolute micron ratings are not fine enough at a high percentage.
