West shore lake tahoe truck camping

Anyone have any recommendations on places to camp in a truck camper on the west shore of lake tahoe. We are headed up there tomorrow and every campground appears to be booked on reserveamerica. Meeks bay campground has a tent only site available... Is there any first come first serve camprounds anymore? Boondocking? We are looking to do some mtn biking and hanging on the beach. Thanks

    Also, try Zephyr cove at the south end. Might be a bit further away, but its a great little campground. Was up there just two weekends ago.

    Campground By The Lake, yes that is the name, at the Y (50 & 89 split) a city run campground by the lake. Fallen Leaf Lake Campground has first come spots, also.

    Anu, why don't you go to the East entry trailhead of The Rubicon Jeep Trial. It's accessible from Homewood. There are several big open spots where jeepers park their trailers and TV's before entering the trail. They had some rain up there today so the dust should be down for a while. I cannot guarantee a quiet night, however.
