In Texas, how much you pay varies from county to county. The safety inspection is is $7.50. Thee are no emissions inspection for diesel vehicles in Texas, but some counties may require them. The standard fee for trucks between 6,001-10,000 lbs GVWR is $54 while vehciles between 10,001-18,000 GVWR are $110. Then you pay the county tax which ranges from $0 all the way up to $21.50 in Bexar county which I am in. I don't mind having the highest county tax because it means we don't have toll roads. Most other counties our size in Texas has an $11.50 tax plus toll roads.
So for me with my 10k GVWR 2500 truck, I pay $83 a year. For a 3500 it would be $139.
