Fixed two of the pleated shades. The Cabover Hekki vent's shade and the small two string rear window shade. Neither had cord failure. Both were messed up from the plastic thread anchors failing from age. The Hekki has a notch in the side that the tension spring end makes a 90* turn and uses the spring for tension. The notch failed so I just cut a new notch, easy fix.
The vertical rear window blind has a plastic anchor that the lose end of the cord attaches to it broke and the cord went up into the bottom metal end of the blind. I pulled the end caps, slid off the bottom metal piece rethreaded the cord ( they cross from one side to the other then reassembled Ties the loose end of the thread to the screw that held the plastic anchor and reinstalled both sides. Fixing both took maybe 30 minutes.
