The last time I changed the oil in my 8.1 big block 2002 Chevy 3500 passenger van was in June 2011 for a trip to Florida. I use 10-40 Mobil 1 synthetic High Mileage. I would say I have about 7,000 miles since the last change and have added oil a few times since. I am sure if I drove it like my cross country trips to the west coast back in the day I could do 20,000 miles in a year with one change of Mobil 1 synthetic. My van sits in the driveway 99% of the time waiting for short trips to Home Depot or Lowes for a pallet of pine bark mulch etc. I do plan on doing an oil change this spring.
