YA, Price floored me. First time t-stat has gone out. 87,000 miles on 2001. So far since 2006, premature failures include... fuel lift pump, water pump, radiator hose clamp. Doesn't include what I consider normal wear items. I'm not sure how long a t-stat should normally last.
YES, 15 year old truck...guys at work used to kid me that when I go somewhere, car crushers follow me around. Lots of miles left in this thing. Spent some time with a retired Cummins engineer, he won't part with his old mechanical :)
Only 87,000 on an 01??? You don't drive it enough!!!
I only have 201,000 more than you!!
Radiator hoes clamp, your starting to sound like Fish!
I hope you replaced the Lift Pump with an aftermarket, and a Fuel pressure gauge, and never see below 14 psi.
