- Rthomas61ExplorerI have a 2013 KZ 280BHSS. Been on a seasonal site for 2 years now. Only problems were the circuit breaker on the frame, behind the battery, was poorly placed/designed and rusted out. Now, I'm having a water leak issue. In heavy rain, I get a small puddle in the bedroom against the wall. Having trouble tracing origin. Had one of the stabilizer jacks back itself all the way out. They shipped a new one, no charge. I installed myself as it was easier than pulling from the site.
Minor issues such as poor design for arm rest on the couch. Longer screw fixed that. Bathroom faucet screen was not tightened and leaked through fixture into cabinet. Simple "tighten it" job fixed that issue.
Love the camper. Family stays in it full-time for 3 months of the summer.
All my research prior to buying was very positive for the KZ brand! - 3_acatExplorerWe have a 2011 sportsmen 261 RK and NO trouble with many Ks of towing.
- RustycamperpantExplorerWe have only used ours this summer, but so far it has been wonderful. No issues, not even a little one. We have a great dealer close by too, do not underestimate the value of a dealer you can trust.
- FLGupExplorerWe bought our 2014 KZ Connect 220 in April. We are in it now and spending a month in the Smokies with Fall colors. We will have spent almost 2 months total in it since we bought it and no problems. It is built well and we love the layout, including the outdoor kitchen.
- spadoctorExplorerOn our second KZ....first had a major roof issue out of warranty period but was totally replaced no charge to us. As for the future....they are now owned by Thor....hopefully they won't screw them up like they did with Crossroads. My dealer is not happy with recent changes to KZ and he is on the fence as to whether they will be as good as in the past.
- pennysmom09ExplorerWe are in our second KZ Durango 5th wheel. Neither one has needed to go back for warranty work, all systems have worked fine. No complaints so far, "knock on wood".
- myredracerExplorer IIAs for the things that KZ actually builds and puts together, (walls, interior cabinetry, roof assembly, etc.) I would say it's good. And as for the various components supplied to KZ for installation (fridge, AC unit, Lippert frame, windows, etc.), all the usual sorts of things that can go wrong with them, obviously can. In an overall package sense, I would say it's above average and is reflected in the 2 year warranty they have. Also, my impression is that KZ's quality has improved somewhat in the past number of years compared to earlier years, but I could be wrong. Our 2014 Spree has very few issues to deal with after one season.
I think where you may find things are much better compared to other brands is the quality of service from the KZ dealer. Support from the factory (via the dealer) has been outstanding in our experience although they can be slow to deal with some things and communication could be a bit better.
KZ was bought out by Thor industries earlier this year and it remains to be seen what, if any, significant changes will happen. According to our dealer, they expect to see more "bling" on new models.
For 2014, the Spree line has a new arched ceiling and light grey exterior which are really nice: - 93Cobra2771ExplorerOur 06 is very solidly built. It has 5300# axles under it, with a GVWR of 10,000. However, it only wieghed 7800#. In other words, it was built with lots of cargo in mind.
I would not hesitate to purchase a KZ again. - campiniaExplorerWe bought a 2015 KZ Sportsmen Show Stopper this July. We traded in a 2012 Jayco that had some design problems with the A/C and refrigerator not working properly. We have camped 10 nights in the KZ and it seems the quality is as good as Jayco if not better. I have only had small things that I had to fix, for example, they put the cold water and hot water lines on the wrong sides of the faucet in the kitchen, just had to unscrew the lines and switch, a 5 minute job. My outside sink leaked when I would drain it and that was fixed in about 10 minutes with teflon tape and some plumbers putty. Everything works well and it feels like a very solid trailer.
- Doug33ExplorerI owned a 2006 KZ Jag 24' TT until last year. I had pretty good luck with quality. Granted it was a low-end unit and did not have a significant amount of options. Over 7 years I had some minor things I needed to fix, but never needed to use the warranty.
