The GVWR on my sig truck ( 6ft 6 in box )is 11500 and payload as per the door sticker is 3917.
As far as GM trucks go, keep in mind 2011 and up have beefed up frames, suspension steering and brakes, but the same body style and interiors since 2007 to 2014-15.
My 2011 3500 SRW has a 100lb higher GVWR than my old '06 GM dually crew cab ( 8ft box ) and within 50lb payload, both with the same basic options.
