What isn't included with new trailer

Looking at buying a new TT and in order to budget for what I need to buy after the purchase, I would appreciate your input on what items you would think is included but isn't when you go to pick it up. Things like spare tire and tire rack, batteries, bed sheets, sewer hoses, tow hitch, etc.

Also, what items did you have the dealer include as part of the negotiation or for additional cost.

Basically what do I need that the dealer could or should provide whether or not it is included or extra cost.

Thanks

    For sure.

And get them to change out the lights to LED if they are not already.
  • Don't let the dealer sell you NITROGEN IN THE TIRES.
  • Our dealer also "threw in" a starter pack of Tri-Lynx leveling blocks. Otherwise pretty much agree with what everyone else has mentioned above. Enjoy!
  • Look up what comes with the unit (some come with spare tires and propane tanks, others don't, etc), then ask the dealer what they add (mine filled the propane and added a battery and box). There's no general answer to what you're asking, other than "it depends."

If you're looking for bargaining chips to try to get things thrown into the deal, I ended up buying (got a really good base deal, so didn't need to bargain for these):

    Water hoses
    Water filler
    Pressure regulator/elbow
    Sewer hose
    Gloves for dumping tanks
    Black tank wand
    Towing mirrors
    Brake controller
    Electric 30/20 adapter
    LED lighting
    WD Hitch
    Hitch locks
    Electric jack
    Furnace bug screens
  • Spare tire, battery, two full propane tanks electric jack, electric stabilizers were all incuded in my purchase.

I negotiated adding slide toppers and vent covers as part of the purchase.

My dealer gives everyone a free starter kit that includes a sewer hose, water pressure regulator and drinking water hose. All of which are basically useless/too cheap (except water regulator). But, those items are easily picked up for a decent price at WalMart or Amazon.com

Bed sheets - nope.. never thought about asking for that.

  • May not be necessay for you but generally speaking, get them to throw in a water pump bypass kit so you can pump antifreeze directly from the jug.
  • my new TT came with a spare tire, a battery, and a 20lb propane tank. Also a 30' power cord. I had the dealer install a weight distribution hitch and brake controller.
    bought separately:
    sewer hose
water hose (safe for drinking water)
    in-line water filter
    50' extension cord
    surge protector
    15 to 30amp adapter
    50 to 30amp adapter
    towing mirrors
  • Better sewer hose like a Rhino hose and an extra 10 ft of length on top of the 15 ft.
Some kind of sewer hose support bracket to offer an even flow from the tt to the sewer inlet.
    More length of water hose.
more length of 30 amp line and also a good 10 or 12 ga. 50 ft , 20 amp cord.
    electrical adapters. 30-15amp, 15-30amp, 50-30 amp .
Surge protector is a good idea .
I also add a Hughes transformer to boost electric as needed at some older CG's.
  • You've mentioned a lot of them (I had to ask for a spare tire the last new rig I bought). But you do not want to leave the dealer without switching out the manual tongue jack for a power jack.
