My new Silverado doesn't have the standard 4 pin plug. Instead, it has this type of plug above the 7 pin plug. I've never seen this before. Do I need some sort of adapter to tow a trailer that has a standard 4 pin flat plug?

Yup. Coax for trailer cameras. One for the back, one for inside.7-way to 4-way adapters are available at every parts store, and many big box stores, and are under $10.

yup, part of the trailering camera system they offer.In the past when GM didn't have the 4 pin with the 7 pin they included a 7 to 4 pin adapater plug as a std accy.

Those would be if you want the camera for seeing behind the trailer, or seeing inside the trailer. All the other trailer views appear when you plug a trailer into the 7 pin harness. Do you have electric over hydraulic brakes? Have you plugged in a trailer harness?

I have electric brakes on my 5th wheel and use the 7 pin plug
