I have been on the road for 21 days with my first RV pull behind. I have so many questions, I'm not sure where to start. I have a 2010 Dodge Ram Laramie 5.7 liter Hemi 1500 and am towing a 2008 Forest River Surveyor 303. The trailer weights 6500 before my gear and I am guessing it is around 7500 loaded. I am not sure what the stabilizer sway bars are, but I am pleased so far with how it has been handling. I generally stay around 60mph, but have pushed to 65 on occasion with no issues, even on winding hills and when tractor trailers are passing me.
You ask about sway bars - you may not have had a problem yet but if you don't have some sort of anti sway or preferably straightline camlock hitch, then you could have problems. We have a Reese Straightline Dual camlock hitch on our 24'trailer and have had NO problems whatsoever when traveling - no problems with very windy days, big tractor trailer trucks, etc. It means a lot to me to have peace of mind - I don't want to cause an accident where we or others could be injured or possibly killed.
