Our first generator was a 1000 watt Honda we used with our 24ft TT. It didn't have air conditioner so this small and very quiet generator provided enough power for our needs. Lights and TV plus charge the house batteries.
For our 38ft 5th wheel we ordered a 7000 watt Onan installed by the factory. It provided more than enough power and was relatively quiet. When it died we bought two Honda 2000i generators with a parallel kit that gives us close to 4000 watts. Even with both running at high throttle these are quieter than the Onan was. Thy will run the air conditioner plus other devices while we boondock.
I like the two Hondas due to the flexibility. They can be used at home or in the RV or where ever else we need remote power. I used one to power an electric jack hammer on a remote job site.
If buying today I would get a 3500 watt Honda that has been setup with a remote start kit. Do a Google search you'll find them for sale.
