I have been thinking about a Spot satellite messenger since we sometimes disappear into the Hinterboonies for extended periods and my mom gets to worrying when she doesn't hear from us for a week. A quick "OK" message every couple of days would set her mind at ease.

tire plug kit (2), air compressor that's good to 120 psi, spare fuses, full set of medical gear, steel wire for tying busted or loose things up and out of the way. full ratchet set to 36 mm with an 18 inch breaker bar, duct tape. super tool 200

We took apart a steel retaining wall that was of no more use and put it back together to make a bridge over a washout in the back county of Big Bear on our way to Apple Valley once using the ratchets once.
