Regarding the comments made here about the Ram mirrors;
these guys were towing gooseneck flat bed trailers that certainly are not as high as most any rv being towed.
I mean, it is certainly possible that the dually flares on the Ram did hide more of these lower trailers when compared to say the Ford mirrors.
Having owned all three HD trucks, I do like the Ford mirrors the best. However, my Chevy was the 2003 model, and I think they changed the mirrors since that model year, so I don't know what the current versions performance is.
I haven't experienced what they stated about the Ram towing mirrors. My 5er is 39' 9" long and high profile. Mirrors are two piece, the bottom mirrow gives me a view of what is in the next lane plus all the way down the side of my 5er to where I can see the wheel well's of my 5er. I don't get what the testers are alluding too...I've not owned a Ford, but have owned 2 Chevy Dually's and didn't have the issue with it either. I have no blind spot and can monitor entire length of 5er from ground up the sides...Guess I'm not as smart as the testers.....All the so called "hates" against all three truck is purely subjective....What one things is ugly, looks ggood to someone else and on and on.....I go by real life experiences and what "I" personally like and dislike...I make up my own mind and live with the results, good or bad....it's part of life. - The_Mad_NorskyExplorerRegarding the comments made here about the Ram mirrors;

Car test reports like on car and driver give more information than a regular driver would not give it a thought. I am a regular driver.

Sounds like the Ford is built for serious business while the Ram and Chevy are built for the whiny bunch. :B
Only thing I got from it was a guy nit-picking the heck out of things on all three that doesn't amount to a hill of beans..Don't know how you took that Chevy and Ram are built for the whiny bunch...I mean the last one to whine is probably the one that won the "shoot-out" and that's been GM/Chevy for so many years it's becoming a moot point, don't know why they'd be whining:)
As far as mirrors seeing around the hips, I tow a 39' 9" 5er and I can see all the way down both sides of my 5er, no blind spots..again, each time announcer pointed out a "hate", sounded like HE was whining....not the owners, but I get it.... - HannibalExplorerSounds like the Ford is built for serious business while the Ram and Chevy are built for the whiny bunch. :B
- 6_7_tow_rigExplorerOk, Im a RAM guy but come on, they busted on Ford because the rear hitch is visible and "truss like"? Its a freakin dually truck designed to tow. Its not an Escalade. I do agree with the interiors though. King Ranch has always looked tacky in my opinion and to over the top.
- Cummins12V98Explorer IIISounds like FORD's lack of updating the suspension has come home to roost!
Did they forget to flip up the mirrors on the RAM? I tow a wide body RV and have no problems seeing what I need to. Maybe they just had to find something wrong with the RAM.
Friends with a 2010 KR were very impressed with the interior of our Longhorn and the ride. - Majja13ExplorerI noticed they did not say much about the gm products. Was that due to the fact they were vastly superior, or vastly inferior? Let your wallet decide.

Title should have been "the five things we hated about the Ford."
Not necessarily. A lot of things they pointed out are opinions. I personally like the location of the brake controllers in the Ford and Ram. I drive with my left hand. Ninety percent of all the controls in a vehicle is on the right side of the steering wheel. Once you drive a vehicle long enough you can hit the controls without even looking so why would it matter if it was high or low? The way these IBC's work now days the only time I have to touch it is to adjust it when first hooking up. Pulling the same trailer every time I have no need to. I can set up 4 different trailers in the trucks memory and change it with my steering wheel controls anyway.
As far as the interiors go. Some people prefer the King Ranch interior. That's one of the opinion things. If anything they put the GM down on that because they didn't see that it was even worth comparing to the Ford. Never said good or bad about the GM's hips either.
