- The_Dung_BeetleExplorerOh boy... I should NOT have done this, but just for grins and giggles I stopped on my way home from work and ck'd out the 2014 Surveyor Cadet (SC226). It was mind boggling how BIG it looked inside with the double slides. This video does now do it justice. I felt my jaw drop...LOL
Surveyor Cadet 2014
Cannot WAIT to go to the RV show in Feb just to see what's what.
. - 2012ColemanExplorer III would first change all the things made from cheap plastic (license plate tabs) to a more durable material.
I would most like to change the idiot clown crew who put it together though... - doxiluvrExplorer III love our trailer just as it is, but if I could, I would trade it in for a Redwood fifth wheel.
http://www.redwood-rv.com/ - Ole_Man_DanExplorerI would ditch the bathtub for a shower/pan.
I'd get rid of the built in dinette, for a table and chairs.
I'd ditch the couch for additional recliners.
I'd look for more cabinet space.
Sounds like I'm in the market for a different camper. I am.
Found one too, haven't pulled the trigger to buy yet. - westendExplorerMore ceiling height (but the lower height means easier to heat/cool and less wind drag when moving).
I wish that I had insulated battery boxes built onto the frame. If they were positioned correctly, the weight would be better distributed and lower to the ground.
There is always a wish for more insulation, especially in the floor. I may revisit that in the future. - Jean_SExplorerWe have a Gulfstream Independence 32-ft. There are definitely things we are changing about our RV. First, they planted a TV on a panel smack in the middle of the bedroom wall behind a panel in front of about 4 or 5 cubic feet of dead space. Crazy! We took the TV down and put it on a blank wall and built cubbies and doors so we could use the dead space.
The large bottom drawer under the sink banged open every time we drove, so we went to a chandlery and got one of the finger latches they use on boats. We had to drill a hole in the door, but a little sandpaper and stain made it look perfect. It also works perfectly.
The pantry shelves were clumsy and the door kept getting pushed open by the pantry contents on the road. We installed sliding pantry shelves and put bolts on the shelves so they could not push the door open.
They also wasted valuable space in the cabinet under the stove by putting the built-in vacuum unit there. Meanwhile, there was a long blank panel next to the sink with wasted, inaccessible space behind it. We took the vacuum unit out of the stove cabinet and installed 3 drawers for pots and pans. We put hinges and a handle on the blank panel and put the vacuum unit behind it. I know that cabinetry is expensive, but they really did a lousy job of something that would hardly have cost $50 to make into usable space. Considering the cost of the rig, I feel that Gulfstream is just being cheap.
The last complaint I would have that I can do nothing about is that I could use 6 inches more on the wall side of the bed so I could make the bed. I guess that we are stuck with that.
We plan to sell the house and full time for a few years, so I'll be back with other complaints when I find them. - soccercoachExplorer1. Bigger Bed
2. More Counter Space in Kitchen
3. Automatic/ More Stabilizer Jacks
4. Second A/C unit - BoskieExplorerMaybe another 2 1/2 ft....otherwise for our needs now its about perfect..
- wrvondExplorer III have no delusions about my TT. It is nowhere near "top of the line", but the bathroom is huge, the queen size bed is truly walk around, I can sit on the sofa or at the dinette and watch the television without turning my head, and it really is 1/2 ton towable. These were the main criteria in our search for a new camper and I am very, very happy with it. I have spent a week going through it from end to end and top to bottom and have not found anything wrong with it. Nothing installed wrong, or broken, or loose that I can fix myself, let alone under warranty. So, any changes are simply touches to make the camper "better". Such as the BAL Lock arms I installed and the Jack antenna I intend to install in the near future.
- phenrichsExplorerI would have bought the larger truck before buying the TT. Then this TT would have been the same floorplan in a 5er. a 38 foot trailer is a lot shorter when you have a few feet of it over the truck instead all behind it.
