My significant other says get it done tomorrow before the trip.
Change the oil.
If it breaks down in the next 300,000 miles guess what, you didn't change the oil before THAT trip.
Not to mention having to look around for the oil in a unfamiliar place and not knowing where oil change places are that you can fit under. And you'll have a happy significant other.
