Good luck
Out of curiosity what vehicle did you find too small?
I have a Lexus LX470 - same as a Toyota Land Cruiser.
It has a 230hp V8 Engine at 320 lbs-ft of torque. 4.3:1 axle. - rbpruExplorer IIThe going rate in MI was $102.00/day you pick up and drop off. They did the dump and refill.
You can have them towed it for you but the idea is to see if you really want to pull one of these barns down the road and if your floor plan will work.
It comes down to spending $1,000.00 to see if you want to spend the big bucks on a TT plus you get a vacation for about the price of a motel stay.

Good luck - rbpruExplorer III went to the local RV show and asked the dealers.
Plenty of motorhome rentals but only a few TT rentals, mostly for college home games.
You could call the dealers an see if they know of one. - j_p_f_Explorersome camp sites have campers set up to rent.
check with any local camp grounds and see if they have any to rent.
you don't even have to pull them, just move in for a few days.
I have done this before, it worked out well for us. - bobndotExplorer II

I see posts recommending that first timers like myself to
rent a Travel Trailer to see if I like it or not.
I have never seen any place around here that rents them.
Asked a couple dealers but they said they don't.

It might be easier to pick a place to stay that has a dealer close enough willing to deliver a TT to your site.
If you have never towed any kind of trailer, rent a U-haul double axle and see how you like it . At least that will give you some kind of idea of what it feels like to tow something of comparable size.
Practice parking and backing the u-haul before you learn on your own TT. - SoundGuyExplorer

Google is your friend - searching "travel trailer rentals North Carolina" yielded several results for me. - IAMICHABODExplorer IIHave you tried
RV SHARE in your area? - Dick_BExplorerCruise America
- bailer6334ExplorerMost RV dealerships also rent RV's. Look at your local dealerships.
As stated above they are expensive to rent but maybe better than buying and deciding this life style is not for you.
Good Luck
