- chevorExplorerOf course that was a couple years ago. Now that the price per barrel of oil is falling don't think they'll pay that much.
Its like used tires there is money in those too. - chevorExplorerThere is places that will pay you for it. Especially if you have a lot. Oil doesn't wear out, it becomes contaminated. It simply needs be "Cleaned" then gets resold. I think my dad was payed 80 cents a gallon on over 300 gallons. They even came and picked it up.
- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIBack in the "Good Ol Days" pouring it around the fenceposts was the thing to do. Kept the weeds down and the posts did not rot.
- trail-explorerExplorerMost auto parts stores have battery recycling, anti-freeze recycling and oil recycling.

Dump it on the manure spreader so it won't freeze this winter or spread it under the electric fence so the weeds grow up to the wire.
What? That's what RoundUp is for. Eventually that oil and all its contaminants will enter the water table.
OP - Just about any Walmart, Oreilly, Autozone, or Advanced Auto Parts will take it.
Well, I guess I'm as good as dead, then. For many years, all the farmers around my area dumped their used engine oil on the dirt roads to help keep the dust down. Of course today that is taboo as well as illegal.
For good reason. You really DO NOT want that stuff in your well water.
Lesser issue, but you don't want it on your truck, either! I lived in a country subdivision where a couple truckers liked to throw their oil on the road. I don't know if they thought they were doing everyone a favor, but if you drive over it before it has a chance to settle in, you have a big mess. - TakingThe5thExplorerI found two small businesses that heat with waste oil. One is a truck repair shop, the other sells lawn equipment and does service.
- maxwell11Explorermy local autozone takes used oil

I just use a funnel to pour it back into the containers and put the containers in a box. My Dad always used it as weedkiller, but recycling is a much better option.
A lot of shops now have waste oil heaters. Instead of paying to have it trucked away, a service garage can burn it for heat. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIAsk the CG office staff........
First that it is OK to do oil changes onsite.....some CGs frown on that.
Secondly....if OK to do where to take used oil.
Thirdly...if not OK. Where to go get oil change down.
Prior to FTng..I always did my own.
When FTng.......was so much easier to just go get it done.
You're retired now.....enjoy it. Go get it done. Have a cup of coffee, relax and read a magazine while they handle it :B:B
