Remove the intake? You can't just reach it from the hole in the right side fender well? I have big hands and can easily get them through that hole. Are there some trucks that do not have this?
It seems like the tolerance varies vehicle to vehicle. I posted long ago on TDR how my oil filter does not fit between the transmission cooling lines and AC hoses. I don't like the idea of bending lines myself either, so I'm not going to bend mine. There has been updates to hose routing since the 2013 run of trucks (very subtle, but they are moved slightly to get that last 1/4 inches of clearance needed to fish the filter out), so I do the intake removal method to service my filter.
If you look carefully, you'll see that your pic has different mounting brackets for the transmission cooler lines than my truck (Look at the bolt location on the frame rail)
