Water pump? Well you can't beat cummins. Roughly a 1/2 hour job with a minimum of tools. Duramax and Ford will be tougher. Ford has 2 waterpumps on its motor.
A little side note to all the Cummins owners here about that water pump that I forgot to mention earlier. Do not, I repeat DO NOT get that water pump from a Ram dealer. They will charge you anywhere from $250 to $300 for it. If you go to a local Cummins dealer or any dealer that is a distributor for Cummins like a Peterbilt dealership or Kenworth dealership then you will pay a lot less than what a Ram dealer will charge you for the same OE Cummins part. For example, that OE Cummins water pump cost us $72 and I sell it to my fleet customer for $80. For a walk in customer that does not have an account I sell it for about $90. I called a Ram dealer the other day because I did not have one and they quoted me $308. I told him he was nuts and called two more Ram dealers. Both wanted over $290 for a water pump that I know they get for $72. So if you are looking for Cummins parts, do not get them at the dealer.
I agree as I just did the same thing. Dealer price was a joke. Just to add the auto parts stores around me anyway all sold REMAN's really cheap. I checked one out and said no thanks and bought directly from Cummins.
