The dealer said the truck camper would be much easier and quicker to mate to the truck than the fiver but one of the posts here said it is not
Sorry, the dealer is WRONG. The 5ver is quicker and easier to hook up to the truck than any TC, even one with electric jacks. This is especially true if you can leave the hitch in the bed of the truck when not using the camper.
The difference between TC and the 5ver is the style of travel. 5ver is great for exploring from a base camp, the TC great to explore along the route and not have to retrace at the cost of not being able to have everything with you.
Palomino has gained a lot of ground on their quality, but it is still way behind the quality of Lance. Is it worth the 50% increase, it depends on you. To me it isn't. However, the price of a new unit also isn't for me.
Think you would do much better to buy a used Lance several years old for the price of the Palomino. Especially since you aren't sure if you will like the TC. Will greatly reduce your loss if you don't like it.
