Not likely! Not so easy to mess with the odometer these days.
I think he means that the engine can go another 100,000 miles beyond what the gas one can do. While I think that's true the gap has been narrowing.
What I interpreted it as referring to the possibility that the odometer on the diesel has been tampered with to reduce the miles if it is the same price as a gasser with equal mileage. I agree that it is much more difficult to commit odometer fraud these days with everything being computer controlled and tracked.
