While filling the water tank....

Is the RV tilted toward the fill? This could also cause a short fill and bubble in the tank.

The RV is just gasping for air. My wife says I'm waterboarding the RV.

When we had our 1998 Terry, water filled fine and vented fine. Turns out the nephew that bought that trailer when we changed trailers, sold it to our daughter and son in law. They have the problem above and it appears to be a partial blockage in the vent tube (they will work on it when they get some time)..

Sure. Hose fitting with a city water/fill switch valve.

My Fleetwood has a warning sign that tells you to take cap off when filling.

I had an dirt dobber build a nest in the vent pipe on my TT. I had to use a fine wire and lots of work to clear it out so it would vent correctly.

Usually the vent tube is connected on a fitting on the top of the tank or side of the tank at the top. They never or at least rarely extend down into the tank. Most likely the vent tube has a dip in it with water in the dip acting as a plug not allowing air to escape through vent, the fill tube has a dip in it that is full of water and causing that water to burp back out of the tank as it fills with water faster than the air can pass through the vent tube or both are occuring. You will need to check and make sure they are supported and get rid of any low point that can hold water. I shortened my vent tube to get rid of a 6-inch dip and used wire ties to support both the vent tube and the fill tube attaching them to the cabinet framing under the sink so each would no longer hold water and drain it back into the tank.

My freshwater tank is under the floor below the sink and the vent openings are in the trailer wall behind the sink. I also use a half inch filler hose about 30 in Long that I can push all the way down into the tank through the fill tube. That lets air vent out through both the vent tube and around the hose going into the tank up the filler tube. Now the only time water starts to flow back out through the fill hose my tank is completely full.

Yes the vent tube probably extends into the tank a bit leaving an air bubble on top. If you can get access you can probably adjust how the vent tube is fitted.

One of these will aid in getting water to fill better.

Normal when it get close to full.
Tank flex's and expands and then retracts when you remove the pressure. If you filled it much slower with less volume and pressure it wouldn't do it as much.
