the above engine was used in early diesel railroad trains..

Honda, 2 have been built, 4 cylinder oval piston,, 8 valve per cylinder DOHC.
45 cubic inch (motorcycle) 220 horsepower. no turbo or supercharger.

all this stuff been around almost 100 years..
making it to work is the hard part. and then into production affordable.

That race Honda engine with the oval pistons was a fascinating engine. I'm not sure, but I think the oval piston engine generated so much punch due to the increase in valve area that an oval piston engine could provide ?
