Who Had a Wet Bath and Hated it?

Had one in my Lance 1010. Not convenient but it was what I had so we learned to live with it and we knew nothing else as this was our first truck camper. The dry shower by comparison in our Lance 1191 is night and day. Couldn't go back.

My very small wet bath would be a lot more tolerable if I didn't have to climb into it. Having over a foot vertical step to negotiate through a narrow door can be a challenge in the middle of the night with my eyes closed.

Typically I fish until dark on the day that I'm heading home so yes all the wet stuff goes in the shower. Plus I don't leave stuff outside for passing by five finger shoppers to help themselves at my expense if I am sleeping or out hiking.

Then there are those rainy days where stuff would stay wet if left out same for snow when stuff freezes.

My TC is my mobile toy shack, it gets us to the fishing, hiking, and mt Biking. The dry shower is perfect for stashing the days rinsed off Mt Biking clothes drip drying , wet boots, Snow Shoes as well as fishing stuff.

Good point, my mental remission - BUT this is not the subject of the OP's rear entry slide-out inquiry (another thread). In fact I do recall that BigFoot too had one non-slide dry bath model - but they are few...Its certainly the clever MFG that finds a way to fit a dry bath in a non-slide camper, and surprisingly BigFoot managed to engineer it without compromising floorspace!!.. The problem is, with the advent of the slide-out (preceded by the introduction of heavier duty trucks...), the market place changed dramatically, thus floor space and features expanded proportionally.

The AF 990 has found a niche, but I see no 'dull world' victim status here (I too am all FOR ones Variety!!!!!!), I make no case whatsoever for 'everybody wanting to have the same as me'....Yet, the OP's inquiry has to do with WB vs DB preferences (and reasoning...), so much of this thread is rightfully of 'personal preference', so we can celebrate 'to each his own'.... My ONLY point is that a dry bath shouldn't compromise space in a MEGA sized camper, thus space should not be an over-riding consideration of this never ending (e.g. emotionally driven.....) debate.

Our guest bath at home always has things things drying inside it unless we have guests. DW loves to swim, so there is usually a suit in there drying for her next swim. Whatever I can hang instead of throwing in the dryer when doing laundry also is hung in the guest bath since it has good ventilation.

Living on the wet side of our state, we rarely can hang things outside and have them dry...

If my wife saw that in our camper, she'd have a conniption. She sometimes treats it like it's furniture with plastic over it. Never to be used, just looked at. :S

On the wet bath in general, I hate the thing. Except, as mentioned, in an emergency--which is way more often than I like.

The skylight- in the days when incandescent lighting was the only option, I could see the need for it. But now, with less power consuming LED's, a skylight in the bath isn't necessary IMO. It's just another potential area to leak. Not to mention it lets in an ungodly amount of sunlight, therefore heat.

All-in-all, if not for my wife, if I could, I'd probably forgo the toilet and a black tank altogether and use a porta-pot in it's place. Speaking of camper toilets, what's with the shallow toilet bowl designs? I do NOT like 'em! Margin for error isn't anywhere near... ...how shall I say?...deep enough

I do like having a shower on the inside. Nothing more refreshing than cleaning the funk off from the days activities and crawling into bed.

We moved from a toy hauler that had a dry bath almost as large as our entire TC. Due to the size of TC, a dry bath would take up too much space and the wet bath was the best match. We always use our bath over a campground's, so it gets frequent use (this was one of the the reasons we have an RV over a tent or mini trailer). Given a choice, we prefer the dry bath so wet things can hung to dry while not impeding use of the bathroom. If we purchase a larger TC, a dry bath will weigh in our decision. As others have posted, the size and shape of the baths vary. Try a couple bathrooms to find which one fits you our spouse the best.

Slightly off topic: I do not find having to move the slide out slightly for access is an issue if it is on the curb/passenger side (it takes mere seconds). I would be more worried if the street/driver side has to opened when pulled off on the side of a road so I do not extend into the roadway.

Now you have made a good point there (probably one of the best) and I would have to agree with you on that one. Who wants a dirty wet pair of waders hanging in their face if they have to sit down and do their business. :E

The OP is likely not talking about the typical 9-6" (< >) non-slide camper...If you look at the larger floor plans with a dry bath and slides you might even think that you're in a 5th wheel!!

Then the one the OP is looking at is an Adventure 116DB. Now I would call this a larger camper with 2 slides king size bed and lo and behold it has a wet bath in it.
