going on my first big outing in two weeks. Adirondacks in NY.. old forge... they do have black beer. Current camper has indoor three burner stove. Just getting epinions on who cooks inside, or who cooks outside? I have a two burner coleman stove that I think im gonna take with me. im not sure I really want to do a lot of cooking inside camper besides boiling water.. I imagine cooking bacon or frying steak inside will linger smell wise even though there is a powered vent right there.. how do you guys do it? do you utilize your inside stove, or cook mostly outside? im just looking for epinions, that's all..thanks
Where would you keep the food???? That's what attracts bears, not just cooking smells. Simply cooking outside doesn't make the inside of the camper somehow "bearproof". If they're around and marauding they'll find the food, so unless you intend to store all the food outside somewhere you might as well just cook in the camper.
That having been said:
I live/camp in black bear country, cook in my trailer, and have never been bothered by them.
