I am happy with the lower end XLT trim package on my F-150. Didn't need climate control (it's nice, but nor worth moving up a full trim level), didn't want a sun roof (I mean really... it's a pickup truck), don't want the navigation (I've used Garmins for years now and I can move them from vehicle to vehicle). I did want the center console, and a nice stereo, power windows, 4 wheel drive, 3.5 EB, crew cab, and tow package... basic creature comforts and/or features essential to a multi use daily driver/tow vehicle. I found exactly what I wanted and got it for a price I thought was fair. We looked at some with more stuff, and the prices were shocking to say the least, running near $50,000 and we didn't even see a Platimum.
It's hard to get exactly what you want unless you are willing to special order, and that comes with both a delay and a premium.
