I don't like spending money any more than most people and I keep reading comments that some people want cheap, simple pickups but the people actually putting their money down seem to have a different ...

Sure we are. Dealers wouldn't have anyone to mail those "I have been instructed to offer you top trade in value for your 2005 Ram 3500 toward a new Ram truck" letters, or my personal favorite I received from a Dodge dealer "There is a shortage of your Ram 3500 in the used car market, and I have been authorized by my manager to offer you top dollar".
