RobertRyan,
Traveled a lot outside NA and for many years and you'd know that if you read my post or any in the past. Do you somehow think we hadn't visited our Son and wife in England and Europe for only one example and seen the facts first hand. Words in posts do have meanngs!
True that we have not been to Australia and really do not plan to. Just our personal choice. However, I did have an employee who lived in and traveled in Australia for 31 years and had lived in Perth, Adelaide, and then in Brisbane. Went back to vist parents and family there every year or two. Many rolls of VHS tapes he had taken with his wife (my uncle's daughter) all around Australia including "The Outback" and Alice Springs he's played for us. His brother drove road trains (truck trains) across Australia for many years before he and his wife moved to Canada about 7 years ago where they still live. He's losing his Aussie slang more and more each time we see them. Was very hard to understand some of the different wordings and phrases coming out of his mouth when he first came over. A real fun guy!
Relax! I was not knocking Australia but rather pointing out the vast differences in some countries and the differences in the people's thinking, wants, and needs and what makes sense for a different country or continent.
Just because something is accepted or the "norm" in one country doesn't mean it would even be tolerated at all in another country. Much less be accepted or even be safe.
