Maybe they are easy to spot in a crowd. That is the midsize that I would most like to have right now but the price would have to get more reasonable.Tacoma and Frontier keep chugging along.

Dennis Dillon is widely known as a volume dealership with about the best pricing you can get anywhere. The cheapest Gladiator they have on their lot right now is $35k, and the cheapest Rubicon version is $53k. The diesel Ram in my sig was $39k in spring 2015. I think they're a little higher now but that still seems crazy to me to spend more on a Gladiator than a full size truck with a Cummins in it.

Based on the Wrangler popularity, unfortunately I don't see Gladiators being reasonably priced for a long time, unless the economy tanks. Perhaps what's even worse, is for all that money, one gets the anemic Penstar V6. Sure it's enough to haul the truck around smartly, but if you're spending that much and can't open the hood in front of your friends out of embarrassment, then it's no good.So now it's too big to be a "Jeep", (that departure angle is almost as bad as my buddys bagged 53 Merc!) perfect as a smaller 1/2 ton, but it got neutered in the engine department unless you opt for the diesel, which really throws the price up there.It leaves you with a small 1/2 ton with a crappy back seat, that won't wheel as good as a JK, wont ride or drive or tow as good as any of the current 1/2 tons, yet costs way more comparably equipped and you can only give it to your wife or gender neutral relative because it's missing 2 cylinders and 100hp!There are a few upsides. It's the only thing you can buy that tows anything except for a Tacoma, with a stick shift. If the diesel came with the 6 speed, that would be cool.Props to Jeep for seemingly hitting it out of the park for style points though.

$35k? Aint bad. Is it sitting on blocks and you have to bring your own wheels though?Over here in Libland they're real expensive.

Yes. They had a glut of sedans and smaller cars because they were not selling and now we see the Big 3 stop making most of those models. The current trend is SUV's. Loved my 4 different Impala's but the also killed it.

Jeeps have cult like followers, similar to Harley Davidson with a plethora of aftermarket....neither are bargains but still sell.

Hopefully those purchasing the Gladiator are not getting it for typical truck use or towing. They are barely drivable at highway speeds in any kind of wind much less with a trailer hooked up. At least the Rubicon models. The Overland model is better but still wanders.

I dont know about the 1500's they may have had enough of those but they certainly didnt on the HD's. They are still trying to get caught up on those. The local dealers around here certainly didnt have any new HD's to sell.
