June Pickup Sales

I will probably be accused of posting the link to bash Ford (or to congratulate Perrysburg Dodgeboy). However, I am posting the sales because it looks like everybody else is on vacation.

The chart doesn't show the GMC or Chevy 2500 HD 2015. That is the truck that is really selling for GM.

I believe the figures include all new truck sales.
Chevy held the fort down pretty well considering all the bad press it had in June.
  • Pretty much a continuation of what has been the trend. Ford still outsells the GM twins and Ram is gaining quickly on Chevy. Monthly ups and downs have many factors including incentives offered and fleet sales.
  • Would much rather see a breakdown 1500, 2500 and 3500 with single and dual rear wheels.

Since 2010 RAM has really stepped it up and the sales figures show that.

When RAM gets the air ride 3500 Dually out there there will be many more Dually's sold because Momma don't like rough riding trucks. Now Poppa will be able to get the Dually he knows he needs to safely tow the BIG RV Momma wants!

Those numbers are included in the Sierra and Silverado numbers. Just as all Fseries and RAM trucks are included in their numbers.

Because someone cuts their price to play catch up, doesn't necessarily mean it's a good truck.
    Ridgeline is a truck now?
    Frontier?
I had heard that the Titan was being discontinued for being the worst quality truck made.
Not disputing your numbers, or your right to like them, just not sure what this is supposed to mean?

Well Ram now seems to have a one - two - three punch, the Ram HD with the Cummins and Cummins/Asian.
Ram 1500 with the 3L diesel
    Ram gas with 6.4 Hemi!

The Ridgeline, why not a Pickup with a 5,000# tow rating. I know for a fact it will easily pull that much with the truck fully loaded, including the trunk!!
  • Sales figures are sales figures. If that is the measure of success so be it.
All three of the majors are equally good, what is a strong point in one is a weak point in another.
If you make any major purchase such as a truck based on sales figures or blind brand loyalty you are an idiot plain and simple.
I have had GM,s now I have a Ram. Why did I buy a Ram,because my gut told me it was a good vehicle and so far my gut has been right. Next truck I will test drive all three and I will go with my gut once again.

Is there a source for retail sales, the picture may be significantly different if you pull out fleet sales. I remember 30 or so years ago Goodyear tire advertised one of their tires as being the sales leader. Goodyear failed to mention that they had landed an OEM contract with both Ford and Chrysler, take away the contract tires and the figures changed considerably. I had them OEM on a Ford Ranger and they sucked in every aspect but longevity.
  • Honda is probably the smartest of the manufacturers. They realize that the average buyer of a "half ton" truck tows nothing heavier than a lawn mower or possibly a ski or fishing boat. Only about 10% of them tow anything really heavy like a midsized travel trailer. Honda has chosen not to get into the competition for that 10% of the market. They build a grocery getter that has very limited towing capability and are a viable option for those grocery store trips. Certainly as much an option as any of the mid sized trucks like Dakota, colorado, ranger, Frontier or Tacoma.
  • They are all cutting prices. A month ago Ford was offering $8500 for left over 2013's.
  • Because someone cuts their price to play catch up, doesn't necessarily mean it's a good truck.
