You could permanently install one on the inside of the trailer. Install it right off of the main pipe that's fed from the city water inlet. The picture below isn't mine, but you could do something similar.
If you put it outside then you might want to make sure that the plastics used in the housing are UV stable. Normally these things installed indoors and this will be outside all of the time. You don't want something that's going to start breaking down on you. You may end up with bits of plastic in your water.
