Turbos are not some new and exotic technology. They're designed to last the life of the vehicle, and even in the event one fails they cost about $600 new.
There are many more expensive things that I'd be worried about breaking first.
Note that I'm not trying to discourage getting the 5.0L. It is a very good engine as well, and I can see where choosing between the two is a tough choice. I just hate seeing the EB removed from consideration because of the "turbos are unreliable and expensive" myth that comes from backyard mechanics putting turbos on engines that aren't designed for them.
