I wanted to compare power output in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears and be more critical than I have been previously with Ecoboost trucks.
Nice comparison on 1st through 4th gears. What happened to 5th and 6th?
At any rpm the 5.o L can't make as much HP or torque as the 3.5 does at around 2000 RPM.
I prefer to tow at 2000 rather than 5000. These engines do tow like a diesel. Great torque.
As for people complaining about turbo lag, if you are pulling 5000lbs or more, the turbos don't have to spool up, they already are.
In a drag race you might notice a 1/2 second delay, but when I'm towing, it's not a drag race.
