What happened to 5th and 6th?
Forgot to address that question. With that 2014 Ecoboost truck, when ever I gave it any throttle, it dropped to 4th gear. Unless I gave it very light throttle, it wouldn't stay in those overdrive gears. I wouldn't expect it to when wanting to accelerate.

On a side note, as stated in my 2012 5.0L tow review, the 5.0L shift logic in tow mode only stays in 6th under 60 mph. It could had stayed in 6th as it had a lot headroom as it wasn't even working up a sweat. As I said before, the shift strategy between the engines is different. This logic seems expected as the faster you go, the more overdrive gears are locked out. Most tow modes lock out overdrive completely so it's nice that these are staggered letting you get performance and mileage.

It also did go back and forth from 6 to 5 depending on where I was driving. At 55 mph it was in 6th but went to 5th almost immediately when I hit 60 mph, several different times. Seems to be a logic shift in the Tow/haul mode.
