Why a pickup?

There isn't a rule that says SUVs can't tow, but the simple fact is, most arnt designed for it. There is a correct tool for every job. A few SUVs tow very competently. Most modern SUVs arnt body on frame. They are often unibody and made to be smooth riding grocery haulers for driving your kids to the mall. No matter what your dealer will tell you. Some modern day trucks aren't really designed to tow very well either, but most are better suited to it because of having a body on frame construction, a solid rear axle, and springs rated for a specific amount of weight. Buy what you want. Most modern trucks are so good at doing so many things for many of us it doesn't make sense to own anything else.
