Food for thought...If a quality RV was manufactured that would endure, Say they would last for 15 to 20 years with little to no maintenance, and meet all expectations how soon would those same manufacturers put themeselves out of business... Just my 2 cents.
Also I am not trying to start anything just my own thoughts.
Airstream has been around 80 years and has not put themselves out of business by building and selling quality. And what is the first thing most people complain about Airstreams? Quality costs too much!
To the OP. I would resist lumping all truck campers into your statement regarding poor quality as there are some that have a good reputation -- Northwood's Arctic Fox, Northern Lite's clamshell fiberglass campers, NorthStar's popup and hard side campers, Host, Chalet, Alaskan, and I am sure some others as well.
