I think that this Forum is Quality Control for truck campers. And that's a good thing.
I have watched the Livin Lite truck campers and think they are on the right track. And everyone praises the Alaskan, though it has mostly wood construction. There must be a long term commitment to quality at that firm.
Those of us who live in wet climes have different issues than the folks in the SW. We have to have TCs that can take the moisture and constant humidity in addition to the battering of a 4x4 on a back road.
I appreciate the insight about Harley and Airstream...they do show that its possible to create a quality product in the USA. And the poster who mentioned the strides made by the domestic auto industry is also correct. Ford and GM build world class trucks. But I regret to say that these companies are becoming the exceptions rather than the rule.
