Not all TCs are poorly made. We have a 2006 OKanagan that's like new. Never had the slightest issue with it. Came with a 5-year full warranty. Maybe that's why they went out of business - put too much money into the camper and couldn't compete with the ones that were made more cheaply.
Recently went boondocking with another TCer. He had a newer Lance. The road was a washboard. When we arrived at the camping area, we had no problems. On the other hand, on his camper, the oven door had opened, the microwave had fallen (the tiny screws holding it in place tore loose from the support boards) onto the oven door, breaking both the oven and microwave. The then noticed that his sewer line had cracked, causing a leak inder the camper. Hopefully none of this is typical, but his isn;t the first I've seen that had issues.
Perhaps older units were made better. At any rate, a careful inspection may show significant differences.
